About Modelers Warehouse!
As a professional model maker, I've come to depend on all sorts of products, and some are harder to find than others. I started ModelersWarehouse.com as a means of bringing all of those hard-to-find and not-so-obvious products under one roof. I've been amazed over the years to learn that many modelers don't know about the hundreds of products out there that can make your life, and your model-building experiences, much easier. Most are produced specifically for the hobby industry, others have been adapted by modelers to suit their needs.
We're kicking off this site with the launch of our new
endeavor, WARPIGS
Weathering Pigments. Artists have used
pigments for centuries, not only to create various types of paint, but
as dry powders and tonal washes. In fact, the earliest form of art using
earth pigments dates back 30,000 years. Native Americans have used
earth colors to stain leather and hides, and mixed with boiled-down
animal grease to create rudimentary paints. Modelers have used various
forms of dry powders, pastels, and ground-up chalks for years as a means
of conveying weather, wear and tear, and corrosion to their models.
Whether you model armor, aircraft, ships, or railroads, WARPIGS will have something you can use to take your models to the next level. Are WARPIGS any different than any of the other pigments out there? Truth be told, no. We've researched the chemical compositions of all the leading brands, and we can't find any one aspect that makes theirs better than ours. Chances are, the colors our competitors use come from the very same quarries as WARPIGS, located in the Luberon Mountains of France.
At ModelersWarehouse.com, you won't find plastic or resin kits. We do recommend, however, that you visit our preferred vendors, Wings-N-Treads and Sprue Brothers, for all your kit and detailing needs. You won't find better service or a nicer bunch of folks in the business.
Pretty soon, we'll be adding washes and other WARPIGS finishing products, as well as products from various manufacturers. Our focus will always be on the products and tools you use to build your models. We're not going to be a huge mega-store operation, that's not our goal. We intend to remain a small operation, focusing on carrying products from smaller, cottage-industry producers.
In order to keep our expenses low, and therefore, our prices, we'll only be accepting credit card payments through PayPal. If you don't have a Paypal account, no worries, you can still make a payment through them using any major credit card.
If you're vehement about using a credit card and not Paypal, then please feel free to contact one of our distributors.
Thanks for your patronage!
